We've finally gotten our hands on official photographs of the highly anticipated sacai x Nike VaporWaffle "Black/Gum" after months of speculation and leaked images. The popular silhouette has been dressed in a subtle colorway that will undoubtedly appeal to sneakerheads since it is arguably one of the most wearable interpretations we've seen. The VaporWaffle, developed by Chitose Abe's sacai label, was initially released in 2020 and has remained a popular choice ever since.
The uppers are made of a range of materials, including suede, canvas, and leather, and feature sacai's characteristic double Swoosh branding, which has been seen on all of its Nike collaborations since the original LDWaffle. For a collaborative look, the tongues are also doubled up and contain twin branding.
Other prominent features include blacked-out laces and pull tabs on the heels to make them easy to put on and take off. Of course, all of this is on top of the massive double-stacked sole, which immediately distinguishes this pair from the rest. The appearance is completed with a classic gum outsole unit, which breaks up the otherwise monotonous color scheme.
If you want to get your hands on these highly anticipated pair of kicks, you'll have to keep an eye on us because no official release date has been set yet, though we expect them to hit select shops in the coming months.
