Everyone would agree that New Balance has risen to the top of today's list of finest sneaker brands thanks to a slew of great collaborations throughout the past year. While collaborations with Ronnie Fieg's KITH and Justin Saunders' JJJJound are still in the works, the Boston-based label is placing its New Balance 990v5 "Grey" front and center for a vegan-friendly makeover this month.
Although it bears some resemblance to the iconic 990v5 "Grey Castlerock" colorway, the "Vegan Grey" opts for a more neutral look in the sake of sustainability.
The breathable mesh base, suede fabric, and TPU supports are all made from environmentally safe materials. Apart from the "V" mark around the heel, which is accentuated in green and nods to the vegan theme, the model's shape and branding placements are as usual. Underfoot, an ENCAP-engineered midsole unit completes this Vegnuary release of the NB 990v5.
Will you be breaking out the New Balance 990v5 "Vegan Grey" this year?
