Nike has a long history of producing high-end running sneakers; after all, the iconic company was started by two runners who shared a passion for the sport. While the Nike ZoomX series has been around for a while and has dominated the competitive distance running scene, the Swoosh brand has now introduced the Nike ZoomX StreakFly, which is targeted for shorter distances. The pair features a shorter midfoot Pebax plate, which allows for more ZoomX cushioning to be buried underfoot, making it ideal for 5km and 10km races.
The shorter plate enables for "greater control and a more aggressive feel," according to Nike Running Footwear Product Manager Elliott Heath, making these suited for the high-impact intensity of the distances they're built for. If you want to get your hands on this brand-new pair of sneakers, the OG colorway shown here is expected to release in February, with other colorways following later in the year, so stay tuned.
