This Next Nike Dunk High Features East Asian Influences

As we approach the end of 2021, we're taking a look at some of the sneakers that will be released the following year, including the never-before-seen Nike Dunk High "Woven Tongue." This enigmatic Dunk, mainly influenced by East Asian culture, includes some extremely distinctive design aspects - and here's our first look!

The "Woven Tongue," which arrives in a pristine "Triple White" colorway, has a strong similarity to the "Pure Platinum," which debuted last November. With an all-leather construction, the shoe's base is smooth and sleek, while the Swoosh has a slight pebbled texture for extra depth.

This Nike sneaker may appear to be minimalist at first glance, but upon closer inspection, you'll notice that there's much more to it than meets the eye. To begin, the toebox has been adorned with a clean row of stars that runs vertically across it. The Chinese character for "ten" or "take up" has also been embroidered on the heel. To top it all off, the tongue ditches the traditional one-piece design in favor of a braided style inspired by conical hats. This sort of traditional hat goes back 2,000 years and was and still is a means of sun and rain protection.

We don't know when the Nike Dunk High "Woven Tongue" will be released, but our sources say it will be anytime in the Spring or Summer of 2022.
