Following the untimely death of Off-White founder and Louis Vuitton menswear designer Virgil Abloh, Nike appears to be rearranging some of his planned partnerships in honor of the late creative genius. According to Nice Kicks, the Off-White x Nike Blazer Low, which was initially scheduled to release on December 7th, will be delayed.
Abloh's interpretation on the classic model is unlike anything we've seen before, and it's certainly one-of-a-kind. It comes in "Black" and "White" colorways, and it has a full leather upper with perforations that are reminiscent of his Air Jordan 5 from last year. A neon green pair zig-zags across for the ultimate lockdown fit, while flat laces tie everything together. This design element was taken from Virgil's latest Dunk Low "Dear Summer" Collection, which featured fifty colorways available on SNKRS.
As previously announced, this special edition Blazer Low collab was supposed to drop this week, however it has now been postponed indefinitely. Additionally, the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid has been promoted. This isn't the first time the Swoosh has been forced to do so. Following Kobe Bryant's unexpected death at the start of last year, the sneaker giant removed all of his Kobe Bryant items from their online store for six months.
