The Adidas ZX 5K BOOST Is A Throwback To The Original ZX 6000

adidas has released a new ZX 5K BOOST that is inspired by the original ZX 6000. The sneaker will be released in 2022 and is based on the debut colorway of the ZX 6000 from 1989.

In 1989, the ZX 6000 was released. This was also the first shoe to have Torsion Bar Technology, which was integrated to the midsoles. An off-white upper with blue and burgundy accents adorned the silhouette. The midsole of the ZX 6000 was also yellowed. This gave the shoe a vintage appearance.

This legendary hue is now available on the adidas ZX 5K BOOST. This pair features an off-white upper as well, but the accents have been given a brighter color. The mudguard and mid panels have a mesh overlay, while the upper is comprised of ribbed nylon and suede. The three stripes on the central panel, like on the ZX 6000, are stitched in blue and red.

The pulltab on the heel is similarly red, as is the lining. On the sneaker, there are also mint green embellishments. The yellow soles are a nod to the ZX 6000's yellow highlight. The outsoles are black with a mint green accent to further resemble the 1989 colorway.

Unfortunately, no official release date for the ZX 5K BOOST 'ZX 6000' has been set. The sneaker, on the other hand, will be released in 2022.
