Vans has hosted highly sought-after collaborations since migrating from the halfpipe to the streets many years ago—recent offers include colorways designed by Palace Skateboards, A Bathing Ape, and even heavy metal band Metallica. Today, the renowned California-bred skate brand will expand its artistic horizons through a collaboration with the Los Angeles-based MoCA (Museum of Contemporary Art).
Co-branded Vans and museum outfits are nothing new to sneakerheads. Vans linked up with New York City's MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in 2020. This year's MoCA x Vans Holiday Pack 2021 will pay respect to California by featuring works by Judd Apatow and others.
The look features three Vans models that are popular among fans: Sk8 Hi, Slip-On, and Authentic. All of the pairs keep their normal construction and have the artists' trademark touches, while also evoking parts of California's history.
