As the Dunk maintains its appeal, Nike has began to offer a number of subtle variations that allow the iconic design to speak for itself. The Dunk was developed by Peter Moore (also of AJ1 fame) and first introduced in 1984 as a basketball sneaker. It has since become a cult classic in the world of sneakers, with hundreds of various colorways and variants made over the years.
This new pair, dressed in a low-key white and sail colorway, has the Dunk High's classic shape as well as instantly recognizable paneling. This pair will undoubtedly be a valuable addition to your collection, whether you're a seasoned Dunk collector or new to the game, thanks to the addition of a gum-sole (a favorite feature among many sneakerheads).
The uppers are made of fine leather and are both sturdy and comfy, with color-coordinated laces that hold them on your feet. Nike's trademark Swoosh emblem is embroidered on the lateral and medial sides, with extra embroidery at the tongue tabs. All of this comes atop a white midsole and gum outsole, which hides full-length Nike Air cushioning.
If the Nike Dunk High "Sail/Gum" appeals to you, the good news is that you'll be able to get your hands on a pair shortly.
