Joshua Vides Demonstrates That Custom Sneaker Dreaming Is Possible

It's hard to believe Joshua Vides broke into the public four years ago with his now-iconic Nike Air Force 1 customizations.

His white and black outlined design has been instantly identifiable since 2017, and has appeared on practically every shoe silhouette imaginable, as well as a BMW or two.

Vides has been translating physical artifacts into 3D renderings through his design business, Reality To Idea, and the partnerships have been pouring in.

New Balance is the next brand to undergo the Joshua Vides treatment, with the 57/40 sneaker set to be the first. The Instagram tease leaves a lot to the imagination, but it's evident that the figure hiding underneath will acquire that drawn finish.

Another teaser image shows what seems to be the collaboration's packaging, which appears to be a plywood box with a stenciled "FRAGILE" tag and a spray-painted smiling face.

Though this isn't Vides' first footwear cooperation, it demonstrates that sneaker companies are paying attention to artists and bespoke makers.

We previously claimed that bespoke releases outperform regular releases, so maybe this means more artist collaborations are on the way.

Despite its monotone finish, the pair is sure to be a conversation starter.
