Hoka’s Leopard Print Bondi L Is The Wildest Chunky Sneaker Right Now

Both Hoka One One and Engineered Garments have devoted followings, with the former catering to diehard runners and the latter to clothing connoisseurs who are less concerned with streetwear. Both are geeky groups that are prone to obsess about materials or the millimeter drop of a shoe from heel to toe, making the two businesses perfect collaborators.

EG chose to treat Hoka One One's Bondi L like one of its boots for its latest collaboration. The more lifestyle-oriented shoe, which is a less technical version of the Bondi road running series, was given luxury materials like calf hair and suede, as well as whimsical croc and leopard patterns, by the Nepenthes-owned New York City business.

Only the two other sneakers, which were dressed in all-black and tonal beige, avoided being described as completely ludicrous — but that's part of what makes the collaboration so enjoyable. After many weeks of wearing the leopard print edition, I can safely state that EG's Bondi L is one of the greatest shoes of the year.

Hoka One One is most known for its soles, which range from muscular to downright amusing in its attempt to provide stability on steep slopes. They're thick as heck and really supportive for just walking about in, but the sneakers aren't exactly attractive.

Hoka has been embraced by certain trendy people as part of a dad-fetishizing trend that converts what would otherwise be goofy into a decision that insincerely indicates its user isn't bothered about what they dress by focusing on utility to an extreme.

Despite fitting nicely into the dad shoe trend, finding an appropriate Hoka One One sneaker for regular use might be tough. Few of the color combinations look nice anyplace other than running, especially when worn cheekily, which is why I was so pleased about another collaboration earlier this year with Thisisisneverthat.
