Kanye West has been behind a lot of designs that have left us scratching our heads over the years, including the shapely 450. However, this one could take the cake. On YEEZY SUPPLY's website, Ye's all-new Knit Runner — or YZY KNIT RNR, as it's known — will be available in "Sulfer" very soon.
The next YEEZY silhouette is essentially a knit version of the ever-popular Foam Runner, which we just named one of the greatest sneakers of the summer. The YEEZY SLIDE is also a strong contender.
Unlike the Foam Runner, which is constructed of algae-based foam, the YZY KNIT RNR is made of knit material. However, it has a clear resemblance to the Foam Runner, as it has the same overall form as the other laceless shoe.
The YZY KNIT RNR was formerly known as the "Turreliens" and "TRRL RNR," according to sneaker leakers.
We're fine with the name change - YZY KNIT RNR isn't easy to spell, but it's simple to pronounce (knit runner rolls off the tongue pretty well). We see the Knit Runner in a two-tone design mixing a sand hue with yellow, or "Sulfer," as the name presumably indicates, in these early pictures of the silhouette, which appear to be showcasing the shoe in prototype form. A "Size US9" tag can be found on the heel, which is most likely only a prototype.
The YZY KNIT RNR "Sulpher" will be available on YEEZY SUPPLY on September 23, and it's probable that many more variants of this strange slipper shape will come shortly after.
