The GEL-1090 'France Camo,' a new collaboration between BAPE and ASICS, is taking a journey to Paris. This GEL-1090 performs patriotic Parisian style in a totally new way, combining the colors of the French flag with BAPE's magnificent camouflage design.
For added flare, the French flag's red, white, and royal blue hues are slashed with ice blue, and BAPE's ape head emblem is skillfully incorporated into the camo as well for a distinctive splash of decoration. Have you ever seen a 'dad' silhouette done up like this before? The 'France Camo' are much more obnoxious than the two's prior GEL-1090 collaboration, which featured a tiger shark head.
Ape head graphics work with ASICS logos on tongues, insoles, and heels, while blue overlays give some 2000s athletic style — the 1090 was released in 2004 after all — and ape head graphics work with ASICS logos on tongues, insoles, and heels. The plain white GEL midsole contrasts sharply with the crazy top, and the 'France Camo' is even packed in a camo-printed packaging to emphasize its theme.
The BAPE x ASICS GEL-1090 'France Camo' will be available on October 2 at the BAPE store in Paris and online at BAPE.com. The cost is $19,800.
