With the recently unveiled Air Force 1 Mid NYC Pack, Nike pays homage to the American metropolis of New York. With the NYC Pack, the brand adds two pairs of the Air Force 1 model in two distinct hues to its already wide shoe range.
The Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Madison Square Garden, and several notable buildings like the Empire State Building and the New York Times Tower are among prominent landmarks in New York. New York is also nicknamed as 'The City That Never Sleeps' due to the city's constant activity.
Both versions of the Air Force 1 Mid in the NYC Pack are meant to reflect aspects of the city. In addition, John C. Jay developed a variety of NYC branding elements for the shoes. This demonstrates that the sneakers are genuinely influenced by New York.
Nike Air Force 1 'Bronx Bomber' | DH5622-100
The first pair features a hue that is directly inspired by the New York Yankees, an American baseball team. The upper of the model is made of mostly white leather. A dark blue stripe runs down the tongue and collar.
On the side of the sneaker, there is a white Jewel Swoosh. The shoe also features a white midsole and a gum outsole in a brown colorway. The number 6 appears on the outsole and relates to the MTA's 'No. 6' train that travels across the city.
Nike Air Force 1 'Concrete Jungle' | DH5622-001
The second pair from the NYC Pack comes in a unique hue. The silhouette's upper is clothed in a grey attire with white accents on the laces. Grey is the color of cement, which may be found in New York's pavement stones and buildings.
A white Jewel Swoosh is also included on this shoe. It also has a grey outsole and a white midsole to match the upper.
The release dates for both colors of the Air Force 1 Mid NYC Pack are unknown at this time, however they are expected this year.
