Almost every sneakerhead must have the Adidas x Yeezy shoes. These Yeezy shoes have exploded in popularity. People camped out in front of businesses in order to get their hands on a pair of Yeezys. But where did it all begin?

With his Adidas x Yeezy lines, Kanye West is undoubtedly controlling a large portion of the shoe industry. Did you know, though, that the Yeezy narrative originated at Adidas' greatest rival, Nike?

The Nike Air Yeezy 1 was the first Nike Air Yeezy to hit the market in 2009. It was a high-top shoe with the iconic Air bubble on the sole. They became an immediate hit with sneakerheads all around the globe. The Nike Air Yeezy 2 was released in 2012. You may be familiar with the Air Yeezy 2 Red October, which is also recognized as one of the world's most expensive shoes.

Kanye West announced his departure from Nike in 2013. According to reports, Nike will not pay Kanye royalties on his sneaker designs. Adidas has signed Kanye West to a deal. Kanye not only has more money, but he also has complete control over the creative process. Kanye West and Adidas were a wonderful combination.

350 Boost Yeezy

Kanye introduced the first Yeezy Boost 350 in 2015. It was the ‘Turtle Dove' Yeezy Boost 350. The Yeezy craze has finally arrived. The Turtle Dove is the most recognizable of of the Yeezy 350s.

Yeezy Boost 350 V2 

In 2016, the first Yeezy Boost 350 V2 was introduced. The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 'Bred' colorway is without a doubt the most popular Yeezy Boost 350 V2 colorway.

Kanye still manages to surprise us with fresh Yeezy silhouettes years later. The Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runner, for example, was first introduced in 2017 but was re-issued this year. Or Kanye West's first basketball sneaker, the Yeezy QNTM. Don't forget about the Yeezy Slides, too. It's not a sneaker, but it's a must-have.
